The Biratnagar Kings have commenced their training for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL). The team began its first phase of preparation on Thursday at the Jwala Cricket Ground in Biratnagar.
As part of their preparation, the team conducted a talent hunt to select iconic players. Kamal Khatri was chosen as the team’s iconic player, alongside Firdaus Ansari and Sujan Thapaliya, who were also selected through the talent hunt. All three players will train with the main squad.
The Biratnagar Kings are set to play the opening match of the NPL against the Janakpur Royals on 15th Mangsir (November 30). The team will head to Kathmandu on 12th Mangsir (November 27) for final preparations.
Team Composition
The marquee player for Biratnagar Kings is Nepal’s star cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane. Other local players include Pratish GC, Lokesh Bam, Basir Ahmad, Jitendra Mukhiya, Rajesh Pulami Magar, Dipak Bohara, Subash Bhandari, Naren Bhatt, Mrinal Gurung, and Anil Kharel.
The team also features several international players:

The team’s head coach is former Irish cricketer Kevin O’Brien, bringing valuable international experience to the squad.
