Indu Barma Becomes Cricket Ambassador for Kathmandu Gurkhas

Kathmandu Gurkhas, a franchise team in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), has named Indu Barma, captain of the Nepali women’s cricket team, as their cricket ambassador. The announcement was made during a grand event in Kathmandu on Sunday, where the team also revealed their new jersey.

The event highlighted Kathmandu’s cultural heritage with traditional handicrafts and Newari dances, showcasing the team’s pride in local traditions. Players, including marquee player Karan KC, appeared on stage in formal suits, signaling their readiness for the tournament.

Prominent attendees included Kathmandu Gurkhas president Upendra Mahato, CAN secretary Paras Khadka, and other key figures. The team also introduced its roster and announced Shivam Cement as the main sponsor.

The Kathmandu Gurkhas have strengthened their squad with international stars like Michael Levitt (Netherlands), Gerhard Erasmus (Namibia), and England’s Stephen Eskinazi and Dan Douthwaite.

With Indu Barma as their ambassador, the Kathmandu Gurkhas aim to elevate women’s cricket and unite fans for an exciting NPL season.
