New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham will be a part of the Janakpur Bolts in the first-ever Nepal Premier League (NPL). The team has announced Neesham, a talented all-rounder, as their first international player for the tournament.
At 34 years old, Neesham has played 79 T20 matches for New Zealand, scoring 944 runs and taking 39 wickets. His experience and skill will be a big asset to Janakpur.
The team’s marquee player will be Asif Sheikh, a wicketkeeper-batsman from Nepal’s national team. Janakpur’s head coach will be Pubudu Dasanayake.
The NPL, organized by the Nepal Cricket Association, will take place from November 30 to December 21. It will feature 8 teams, with each allowed to have a maximum of 6 foreign players, and 4 of them can play in the starting lineup.
In an auction held on October 20, each team selected 10 Nepali players. The Janakpur Bolts squad includes:
