Kathmandu Gurkhas Launch Official Jersey for NPL

Kathmandu Gurkhas, the team in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket, has unveiled its official jersey. The jersey and a special advertisement video were revealed at a grand event held at Hotel Yak and Yeti on Sunday.

The jersey was launched by Karan KC, in the presence of Shrinkhala Khatiwada, co-founder of Kathmandu Gurkhas, and cricket ambassador Indu Barma. The team is owned by Kathmandu Sports Development Venture.

The main colors of the Kathmandu Gurkhas jersey are black with yellow shadows. The player’s numbers are in white. The players were welcomed with traditional panchebaja music, and cultural performances were also held at the event.

During the ceremony, team president Upendra Mahato expressed hope that Kathmandu Gurkhas would win the trophy. The players shared their confidence that they would perform well and make the country proud. At the event, Indu Barma, the captain of Nepal’s women’s national cricket team, was announced as the cricket ambassador.

Indu Barma spoke at the event, saying that the NPL is an important celebration for Nepali cricket. She expressed confidence that it would help grow the sport and hoped that a women’s franchise league would be introduced in the future.

Marquee player Karan KC also shared his excitement about playing as a marquee player. He mentioned that the NPL will contribute to the development of Nepali cricket and promised that the Kathmandu Gurkhas team is strong and will aim for the title.

CAN Secretary Paras Khadka said that this is a special moment for Nepali cricket, and he is committed to making Nepal’s cricket league one of the top 5 leagues in the world within the next 4-5 years. He added that Nepali cricket needs support from everyone and believes that more international players can be included in future seasons.

The NPL cricket tournament will begin in Kathmandu on November 30.
